Answers for Parents

My student already knows more about computers than I ever will, so, why should they take computer classes?

Most of your high school student's energy has probably been directed at using the computer for entertainment: gaming, surfing the Internet, sending email, and instant messaging with their friends. All of these uses encourage some basic literacy with the way computers work, but they don't prepare students for the ways they will need to use computers to succeed in the job market or college.

Why enroll now? Can't my student wait until college?

Not so long ago, we could all wait to gain computer skills until we were on the job or enrolled in college. Things have changed; the high school student who graduates without a solid foundation of computer skills leaves school at a disadvantage.
