Curriculum
The programs offered at this site are designed to benefit those students that will use personal computers in their academic pursuits as well as those interested in a career in information technology.
Training in PC Fundamentals and personal productivity applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Internet Explorer) would benefit anyone who uses a personal computer on a regular basis.
Training offered for those students interested in a career in Information Technology (IT) is divided into several areas of discipline that conform to industry standard job functions. These functions each require specific skills that the courses provide.
Job functions include:
- Network Engineer
- Web/Graphic Designer
- Computer Support Technician
All courses focus on functional skills. While some courses include theory and foundational background information, our primary aim is providing students with skills that are in demand by industry, academic institutions, and government organizations. Courses that appear in more than one listing are applicable to more than one job function.
Each course is presented by a recognized industry expert. Many have written best selling texts on their subject areas and all continue to work in the industry.
